Home at last?

Today may be the day! Yes, Jim may be coming home today. They are waiting for the "OK" from the doctor. Yesterday they drained one liter of fluid (blood and fluid) from his lungs. His pnemonia isn't completely gone, neither are the clots, but they are hoping that they have gotten them managed well enough to send him home. I will post as soon as I can get confirmation that he is HOME at last!

On The Mend

Today Jim is doing better. Two days ago they took him off all the IV's. They are encouraging him to eat and get up and move around. He has been eating small amounts...mostly Jello! Unfortunatly it hasn't been enough and they have had to put him back on his IVs.

They have found a new blood clot in his arm and are working to resolve it with the blood thinners. He will most likely have to be on coumadin for a very long time. It will be a long and slow recovery process.

Today they got some good news! If all goes well, Jim will be able to come home on Tuesday. Everyone keep your fingers crossed. I know that he can't wait to come home. Keep the well wishes coming!

A New Day

Even though Jim had to spend Christmas in the hospital, the doctor was able to give us some good news. The blood clots in Jim's legs have gotten smaller now and they are less of a threat to his health. They are not completely gone yet, but if they move it is not likely that they will cause more issues in his lungs, heart or brain.

Now the doctor's are trying to get him started on some nutrition as Jim has not been able to eat for several weeks. He has been pretty weak but they are trying to get him up and moving around. Eating and walking around are things that most of us are able to do without thinking about, but for Jim right now, these are things he is struggling to do.

With all of the love and prayers and persistance on Jim's part they are hoping that he will be able to come home the middle of next week. We need all the help we can get in lifting Jim's spirits. If you can I ask that you make comments on this blog so that we can show Jim how much he is cared about and loved! We also would like to give everyone his home address to send "Get Well" cards which will help lift his spirits and give him the inspriration he needs to recover. Thank you again to everyone for all of you thoughts, support, love and prayers. He needs each and everyone of you right now!

Tough Day...

It is Christmas Eve and it has been a rough day for everyone. As much as we had hoped, it doesn't look like Jim will be coming home for Christmas. They are still trying to manage the blood clots in his lungs and legs. We are thankful that there have not been any newly developed problems. It has been a struggle for Jim to regain his strength which is essential to his recovery. We continue to search within all of us to find our own ways to inspire him, motivate him, and lift his spirits... We all know Jim knows the power of positive thinking, but it is hard at times to heed your own advise. We all need to take that which Jim has taught us and put it to use for him.

Any help that you are able to provide to Jim and his family during this time of need is very much appreciated. Although all monetary donations are very much appreciated, most important are the prayers for Jim and his speedy recovery. Love to all!

Woo Hoo! Out of ICU!

Today is a GREAT day!
The weekend was a rough one. Friday Jim woke up in severe pain. After many tests they found that his liver cavity was filling up with blood. To reverse this they had to take him off of his blood thinners.
With out the blood thinners they were worried that one of the clots could possible make it into his brain and cause a stroke. Out of precaution they placed a filter in the artery leading to his brain.
This landed him in ICU over the weekend. They have been monitoring the process of the bleeding in his liver. Sunday they were pretty positive that the bleeding had subsided.
They continued monitoring his progress throughout the night and moved him out of ICU this morning! All of us are so excited! This is a HUGE step in his recovery! For all of you out there that have kept Jim in your thoughts and prayers...THANK YOU! Keep your prayers coming! Love to all!

"The Healer"

If you don't know Jim Weathers, you may have heard of him. Google "Jim Weathers" and will find a long list of accomplishments and accolades. Most people call him a masseure by trade, but he is much much more.

Jim is also a Shiatsu Master, Reflexology Specialist, Motivational Speaker and a Shaman. His business card states that he is a Chronic Pain Specialist.
Throughout the years, his healing touch has been sought after nationally. Most prominently with the golfer's of the PGA which he has been touring with for the past 5 years. He has also worked on NASCAR drivers, UFC fighters and many others.

If you have had the pleasure of being touched by the healing hands of Jim, you know personally that he does so much more than just heal your ailments. He has been blessed with the ability to heal your body as well as your soul. He devotes his life to helping people in any way he can.
Now Jim needs our help....

On December 11, Jim was admitted into the hospital, in pain himself. It took several days of testing but after a very persistent doctor who refused to give up, they operated and removed Jim's gall bladder, finding that it was full of stones. They had hoped that this would relieve his pain, but it didn't.
After more poking and prodding, blood clots were found in Jim's lungs and in his legs. They have kept him hospitalized to monitor the clots and make sure that they don't dislodge and cause a heart attack or stroke. They also found pneumonia in his lungs on top of the blood clots and have started him on blood transfusions.

Unfortuntely, Jim will most likely spend Christmas in the hospital and continues to be in pain. He has his friends and family by his side for support, but we can't provide all the help that he and his family need right now. Jim does not have health insurance and the hospital bills just continue to grow.

The most important thing that we can offer Jim and his family is our love, support and prayers for his recovery. If you are able to help in any other way, please know how much it is appreciated.
Jim has devoted his entire life to helping people and now is our chance to help him.

There will be an account set up to help with Jim's medical expenses through Bank of America - please check back here for updated information for that account.
In the meantime, if you would like to make a donation, please email Kristy at loveforjimweathers@gmail.com or call (208) 283-6928.

Please check back often for updates on Jim's condition.
We thank you for your kindness, support, prayers and love during this difficult time. We are anxious to get Jim back home and back to what he does best - motivating us all to be better people. Thank you!
